3RD ANNIVERSARY!!
*The Knight Life turned 3 years old in May. Sadly, not much to celebrate. The Knight Life launched in 2008, just as the bottom fell out of the economy. I was still bright-eyed and bushy-tailed back then, thinking I could buck the trend and make a splash. But it ain’t turned out that way. The comics syndication biz ain’t what it used to be. I got into this game ten years too late. I’m hoping Universal Press Syndicate, which recently took over the syndication of all of United Media’s properties, will make some progress in getting my little baby into newspapers. DAMN YOU TED RALL FOR TALKING ME INTO THIS!!
There have been positives, though. I’ve gained a much wider audience due to the papers I did manage to pick up. Places like Washington D.C., San Diego, the military (the strip runs in Stars and Stripes), and Denver Colorado.
Oh–wait..
DENVER POST DROPS THE KNIGHT LIFE!!
Seems like whenever I want to set up a slideshow/signing in a town, the local newspaper drops me. It happened in Seattle earlier this year, and now the Denver Post has dropped a bunch of strips, including Doonesbury and Bizarro, along with the very strip you read on this site.
There’s still a chance to save it, but you ‘ve got to act fast..of course, ONLY if you’re from the Denver area. Please write to the following emails:
rrinaldi@denverpost.com
arts@denverpost.com
Please be nice about it. Keep the hate on the inside.
* NEW (TH)INK BOOK!!
In brighter news, my new collection of socio-political single panels, Too Small To Fail, is making the rounds and people are digging it. If you find yourself jumping from the comics page to the editorial page, you might like to give it a try.
