My goodness!! Has it been two years already? My, how time flies when you’re doing a daily comic strip.
Uh..Actually, no. That’s not true. It is a slog worse than any torture perpetrated by the worst human rights abusers this world has to offer.

That’s not true, either. Doing a daily comic strip when the industry is such a mess falls somewhere in the middle. Two years feels like two years–with no time off. It makes you appreciate folks like Garry Trudeau (Doonesbury), who’ve managed to stay great over years and years (40!!) of cranking strips out.

So why celebrate two? It is a mere drop in the bucket in the big scheme of things. But considering how bad the industry is at the moment (with no signs of improvement) and the fact that I became a first-time dad just as the strip was dropping–makes me appreciate that I have the biggest audience I’ve ever had in my 117 years in the biz.

So how shall I celebrate? By putting book signings and slideshows for the upcoming release of the first Knight Life collection, the Knight Life: Chivalry Ain’t Dead. It’s coming out the first week of June and I’m looking for venues in the Boston area, The San Francisco/Bay Area, Denver and San Diego to do some events. This weekend I’ll be up in Santa Rosa, California at the Charles Schulz Museum (2301 Hardies Lane, Santa Rosa, Ca) doing an intense 90-minute version of my Cartooning is Serious Business. It’s part of a series of adult workshops (most instructors are nude) called the Masters classes. After lunch, I’ll be signing books and working on deadlines from 1-3pm. Come on by for that if you ain’t into the workshop.
