Just got word from Chris at Meltdown on Sunset Blvd in L.A. that they’d love to throw a “Welcome to L.A.” party/signing at the store for me. Expect original Knight Life/K Chronicles and (th)ink art on the walls, a short slideshow performance, beer, music and more. It’s scheduled for Sat. Nov. 14th, 7pm-10pm!!
Folks! Pardon the spotty posts and late comics. The Wifey and I are on the East Coast for a bit, so we’re pulling everything off on the road. FedEx Office is making an awful lot of money from me right now.
UPCOMING GIGS:
Las Vegas, NV-Fri 9/25-Sun 9-27: I’ll be part of a panel of cartoon professionals spilling our guts about self-syndication. Included on the panel is Chad Carpenter, creator of Tundra, the most successful self-syndicated comic in history.
Mill Valley, CA-Thurs. 10/15: I’ll be bringing my slideshow to the Mill Valley Library for a night of humor, politics and funs. I’ll be doing a drawing demo, signing books and selling art, too.
San Francisco, CA-Sat/Sun 10/17-18: I’ll be in my former hometown for the Alternative Press Expo. I’ll be in my usual spot selling plenty of goods, along with a redux of my Indie Cartoonist Survival Guide panel on Sunday at 4pm.
I’ll be doing two slideshow booksignings in the Bay Area on Friday and Saturday August 14 and 15th, alongside San Francisco cartoonist Lev (Tales of Mere Existence).
Lev and I were neighbors in the hardcore, rough and tumble SF neighborhood known as the Inner Richmond.
Friday, Aug. 14-I’ll be at COMIC RELIEF ( in Berkeley) starting at 6:30pm for a slieshow presentation of (th)ink, the K Chronicles, and the Knight Life, seen locally in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Berkeley Daily Planet, Contra Costa Times and the Marin Independent Journal.
I’ll be signing books, answering questions, and showing/selling original art.
Saturday, Aug. 15-I’ll be at AL’S COMICS (Market St. near Octavia in San Francisco) starting at 6:30pm for another slideshow/booksigning. This will be similar to the Berkeley gig, with books, art, CDs and DVDs.
These signings have been booked super-late, so if anyone can help hype them through their blogs, Facebook, Twitter and all, please do.
If you can hang posters for me, send me your address and I’ll mail you twenty!!
*MORRIE TURNER CAREER RETROSPECTIVE AT THE SF MAIN LIBRARY..
The big reason I’m heading up north is to experience the AfroSolo/SF Main Library opening of the Morrie Turner comic art show. Morrie was the first nationally syndicated African-American cartoonist (Wee Pals) and has been an extraordinary inspiration to generations of kids and cartoonists. I hope you’ll join me on Saturday August 15th at 2pm for this event. Morrie’s gonna be interviewed by legendary Bay Area news reporter Belva Davis.
If you’ve been following the Knight Life since the beginning, you know I was a Michael Jackson impersonator in high school. The sad news of the King of Pop’s passing hit me especially hard. Yeah, the guy was weird, but I don’t believe he was a kiddie molester, cuz a lot more people would’ve stepped up and said something about it (like they did with all those church molestations) if it was the truth.
I think he was a naive, child-like person who was trying to cling to the innocence of childhood.
Anyhoo..Here are some of my Michael Jackson strips (via my two other comic strips).
Cheers!

P.S. Ain’t his father a mean-lookin’ S.O.B.?
Thanks to the Wifey for updating the website. We hope to add more features in the future, including forums, sketchbook pages and more. Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see added to the website and we’ll get on it.
Cheers!
Keef
