I actually was thinking about that the other day, that they should remake Attack of the Clones and Revenge of The Sith (Phantom Menace was bad but not as bad as the following two).
Come on Keith, you know you would sign that in a heartbeat, in fact it would probably give you a heart attack!
Greg–Ha..you’re right. I seriously want to get some momentum going about the possibility of “rebooting” the sequels..and not just making them 3D!!
Javier–Phantom Menace?!! Are you serious?!!
Yes !!! Until these movies are remade Lucas will always be remembered as an idiot !!!
Remake them, but keep Lucas out of them !!! wel, he should at least finance them…
Hell yes, the Star Wars prequels need to be remade but without the involvement of George Lucas. I can’t imagine how great they could have been, they should have started with Anakin as the same age as Luke, not some stupid little kid. Boba Fett should never have been in them, except maybe in the 3rd one killing a couple of Jedi. There should be actual space battles, not millions of marching armies. The Clone War should have been more exciting and should have started in the first one. The casting could be better, Hayden Christensen can’t act to save his life. There should be a sense of adventure, drama and suspense. We all know who lives so why not put Obi Wan and Yoda in life threatening situations rather than making them into superheroes who fight a new villain in each movie. There should have been one main villain besides Palpatine rather than 3 or 4. There was no focus, you weren’t rooting for the good guys (or the bad guys).
There should have been space battles at the edge of the galaxy near black holes, C3PO and R2D2 shouldn’t have been in them.
Artoo and Threepio should’ve been in the beginning watching it all go down just like they were in the first film. A bunch of soldiers should’ve come running by them and into a room where they find Darth Maul. The door closes. Shots rain out. Lightsaber sounds. The door opens. And Darth Maul calmly walks out.
It isn’t til Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn show up, that Darth Maul starts to break a sweat. He gets away before they have a chance to engage him.
See the opening scene of the Matrix–That’s exactly how it should’ve been!
The first film should’ve focused on the relationship between Kenobi and Jinn..Apprentice and Master. Establish a real relationship, so when Jinn gets it at the end of “Menace”, we actually care. Then Obi apprentices the kid even though he’s not totally ready.
The second film should’ve been a sort of love triangle between Kenobi, Anakin and Amidala. With a jealous Anakin going way over the top and losing it. The second movie should’ve ended with the lightsaber battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin, with the end of the movie being the mask placed on Anakin’s effed up face.
The third movie should’ve been an angry, pissed of Darth Vader, egged on by Palpatine, moving across the galaxy wiping out all the jedi in search of Obi-Wan, his kids and revenge.
Do you realize how much money that 3rd film would’ve made? Titanic and Avatar wouldn’t have come near it. Who’s gonna argue with me? I dare ya!!
If Darth Maul killed the floppy cod rasta character who’s name escapes me right now in the first 16 mins of the fim that would have been a good start. ALSO a Han Solo type a cool bad ass who doesn’t need hokey old religions/superstitions.
i think they should not have made the prequels, to quote a friend ” the most fun part of the 3 new movies was hanging out in the line before the film started”
should have just made follow ups with david ducovney(sp) as han solo
bigus: It ain’t a “hokey old religion” when it lets you do magic! No argument about Jar Jar Binks, though, he should’ve had his egg scrambled.
keef; They were also playing off Arthurian myth, so that determined a lot of the general plot. Anyway, just let it go, there’ll be another epic along soon.
I’ll try to send you ‘the Phantom Edit’ which won’t undo the past, but is better than TPM. So much room for improvement, but brought us podracers, Kamino, the jedi council (Plo Koon, Windu) and Dooku. Fun thread, constructive critics.
As one of the biggest SW fans that ever came out of South America, I agree with Mr. Knight. The love triangle was the missing link, and it would have been so cool to see Obi Wan getting on with the queen while Anakin is getting all tempted by the Dark Side of the Force.
The third film should have ended with the beginning of the first rebellion attacks.
