"The Knight Life is undeniably the best new laugh- and thoughtprovoker on the comics page. Not since Calvin and Hobbes has there been so novel an entertainment in the funnies."
- R.C.Harvey, The Comics Journal
"Point blank: Keith Knight is one of our generation's best cartoonists. If he were any funnier, he'd be illegal."
- Jeff Chang, hip-hop journalist & author
so true!!! the first panel makes me mad. Why do they always pair up ugly, fat guys (Seth Rogen) with beautiful women? Please, as if. Or they often constantly pair up OLD WRINKLY MEN with young women, yet we rarely see older women with younger guys.
Since I only read your strip on the web, I gotta know: any background noise on this one? I would think that all the crap you’ve gone through with the so-called “enlightened press” and black views in K Chronicles/(Th)ink would be nothing compared to the “mainstream newspaper” reaction to this one. Did you have to have a “substitute” in the wings for all the uptight rags?
I laughed so hard when I saw this in the Newspaper a few months ago. Then I cried because that is how may dad views “black” movies. (and “women’s” movies as well come to think of it)
So I thought I should find the perma-link to the comic for when the topic comes up again. though I am afraid I will chicken out…
All the papers ran the strip–but I got a few queries. One from someone wanting me to explain it, and the rest from white people saying their kid is married to a black person, so they’re very offended yadda-yadda…purely reactionary..not taking the time to understand what is being said.

I hate Hollywood.
Keith, don’t forget that our European wives are by definition terrible SOCIALISTS, which make them extra Evil!
I agree with the last panel, though; some of those blonde chicks out there are psycho!
As an old fat & wrinkled guy, DON’T screw with my fantasies!!
