Sounds like this is one store I should check out sometime. RIP Rory.
Any idea on what will happen to the store?

Sounds like the store will forge on. Todd, the 2nd-in-command, is poised to run the ship

I’m bummed. I remembered him from the comic store “Best of Two Worlds” on Telegraph Ave. in the 80’s - down the block from “Comics & Comix”! “Comic Relief” is an incredible shop.

The Berkeley Public Library passed a resolution in Rory’s honor: http://berkeleypubliclibrary.org/weblog/2008/06/in_recognition.php
Not only are there tributes pasted up in the windows at CR, but at neighboring bookstores as well.
Hey Keef–I’m a Berkeleyan with a weakness for Indian food–which restaurant is the one where you and Kersten got your wedding feast?

Marian,
Hmmm..I don’t recall the name of the restaurant, but it was located right next door (on the right, towards the campus) to Comic Relief’s old location.
Cheers!!

Needless-to-say but I will anyway, the passing of Rory Root closes yet another chapter in all our lives. Rory was supportive of work from the great to the lame (aka Me). S’ funny, I just found the original Comic Relief sign from the SF store in my basement the day after Rory passed.
